Convenient to Penn Station and the theater District. Disappearing room was still very small but comfortable and clean. Elevators were small and that made it typical especially at check out with many people and luggage waiting 15 to 20 minutes for an elevator. Also, we tried to enjoy a glass of wine at the lobby bar but the bartender did nothing about three young men that he was speaking to who were obnoxiously loud and using really vulgar language telling stories. It was really inappropriate and the fact that the bartender did nothing, was very disappointing. There were two families trying to have dinner in the attached restaurant and you could see that they were uncomfortable but like us, they left. It’s really too bad because it could be a very nice spot to enjoy.

Staycation for our wedding anniversary. Great location near midtown. Check in was fast and the staff was very friendly. We were upgraded to one of the penthouse rooms and they are superb. Clean and spacious with a great view of the rooftop bar, which was also fantastic with views of the Empire State Building. Overall we had a great stay at the Kixby and will definitely be booking again and recommending to friends and family.

Absolutely zero bathroom ventilation, and the air conditioner was so loud we slept horribly. The mattresses left you overheated even if you had the room temp pretty cool. Staff very friendly and it’s a it’s a nice room and location for the money. Don’t go to the restaurant that is connected to the hotel, it’s understaffed. I tried to go up to the rooftop terrace because my daughter was excited to see it but I was denied access to the special elevator…not sure what kind of roof top bar it is but perhaps kids or/parents simply are not allowed ? The woman at the podium next to the elevator wouldn’t let us check it out.

The Kixby was a cozy, well-appointed boutique hotel in the Herald Square area with rooms of understated elegance. The staff were also friendly and very helpful. We were there for a family Thanksgiving holiday and it was a PERFECT place as it is next door to Macy's with its spectacular holiday windows and easy access to stores for Black Friday shopping! The Herald Square metro station is literally half a block away and Penn Station a 5-10 min walk.
