Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street

Although the room was a little dated, it was clean and in pretty good shape. Beds were a little hard but not too bad. My body didn’t hurt when I woke up so they weren’t too bad. I always appreciate white linen so I can gage the cleanliness and all the bedding looked clean with no weird stains or spots. I absolutely loved the interior walls of the elevators, so cheerful and bright. The location was convenient and with in easy walking distance to Macy’s, Time Square and Broadway theaters as well as many restaurants and shops. The area appeared to be reasonably safe. It was pretty easy to get a cab right outside the main entrance and is close to a subway station. There is not an on site restaurant but there is one right next door. They also have a small bar but it was not open during our stay. I don’t drink so I didn’t care about that but some people might. There is a small patio out front. My husband and I enjoyed sitting out there in the evening just watching all the people walking past. The best part was the quietness of our hotel room. Despite being in the middle of NYC, I could hear very little noise from outside or inside the hotel. This was wonderful as it was a family trip and I wanted a peaceful nights sleep. I found this hotel to be very family friendly. Staff from the front desk to the cleaning people I dealt with were friendly and helpful. We arrived a little early and were pleased to find out they have free secure luggage storage. Would stay here again.

This hotel is quite dated and the pictures are very deceiving, so please keep this in mind. The property is run down. The location is great for singles that want to be close to the action, but much too busy for families.

Convenient location; Macy’s is right on your doorstep, quick access to the subway, and walking distance to many popular NYC attractions. It’s a busy area of the city so expect to hear traffic noise and the sound of sirens from your room, however those sounds are muffled by the rattle of the air conditioning unit. We were put in a room just above the outside seating area, and had to contend with the loud music played every night. On the first night we asked to be put in a room further away but instead they turned the music down. However the next night the music was back up again, and the bass could be heard over the air conditioning unit. Our weariness from a day in NYC left us with no energy to deal with this so sadly this did taint our opinion of the room. The room itself is fine, a little dated but clean and comfortable. Good amount of storage, and the fridge and microwave came in very useful. The toiletries in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash and lotion) smelt wonderful! We used the breakfast restaurant on a few occasions. Great selection of hot and cold food, and the staff were super friendly. Overall a good hotel with a few little niggles. We were staying with our two small children (6 and 8) so the location worked well for little legs exploring NYC.

Perfect family hotel

Great location! Rooms were fairly spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. I slept well despite being a light sleeper. Great service provided by the front desk. I would give 5 stars except for the dining staff. The breakfast dining has a lot of selections, but the staff were borderline rude insinuating I was going to leave without paying for my coffee. Aside from that, this is a great hotel for families.

The hotel is fine, nice and clean. The staff on the other hand was not the best. We got there early and the room wasn't ready. We didn't mind, they acknowledged us by name and told us the room would be ready in a few. We were fine, checked our bags and ventured off. When we got back they told us our room was cancelled. We were shocked and surprise because they had just told us everything was fine with our room. On Thrusday, my husband and I came back to the room carrying a sleeping child in his hand. They were so inconsiderate and inconvenient, but most of all dismissive. The manager took a ridiculous time to reinstate the room claiming it was expedia's fault. My kids were literally in the lobby sleeping, my husband had to change my kid in a public bathroom. There was no consideration or credit given per our printed copy of the room receipt. We are so disappointed by the experience and hope to receive some sort of compensation for the inconvenience.

For a Hilton hotel - I expected more. No anti skid mats for the shower available. Showe head is placed so people who are bot very tall to rotate it cannot reach it! Very bad design. Waiting time for the all three elevators at sometimes over 10 minutes!! This is a Hilton (price wise) hotel?

You cannot fault Hilton hotels. They always keep on top of their hotel appearances. It was clean and spacious, perfect size for our family. No restaurant but plenty on your doorstep to choose from

The location of the hotel was amazing and within walking distance! Our stay was good! One dislike about the hotel is there is NOT a buffet breakfast! The breakfast was you pick a sandwich, fruit and yogurt! In addition, traveling with kids we thought we would be offered the buffet as stated! Unfortunately, this was not an option! Also, kids breakfast includes just cereal, fruit and yogurt! My kids do not eat cereal for breakfast they like scrambled eggs with some type of meat like sausage or bacon! So this was very hard! In general nice hotel just no buffet breakfast!
