Holiday Inn NYC - Lower East Side, an IHG Hotel

Great location for visiting family in the lower east side of NY. We walked everywhere including across the Williamsburg bridge to Williamsburg.

I booked a room with two beds for my family vacation weeks in advance of our trip. Upon arrival, the manager, Anabella Watts, told me that they overbooked the property and that they would have to provide a one bed room with a rollaway bed. The bed arrived with no bedding nor pillow, and when we inquired, we were told that they would try and issue the room we booked the following night. The next day we were again, told from the manager Anabella that there was nothing she could do and that because we booked our reservation through Expedia, they wouldn't do anything to accommodate us and that there was absolutely nothing she could do. Additionally, because we had three people staying in the room, we were very surprised to find that housekeeping only provided one towel after each cleaning due to their laundry being offsite, along with their overbooking the property. These NY hotel rooms are incredibly small as anyone knows that has been to NY before, and climbing over a rollaway bed is troublesome at best, not to mention the mattress was extremely uncomfortable, was covered in stains, and was cumbersome to move around. My major complaint is the fact that we were told that the manager, Anabella Watts, didn't care to address our issues because we were "just Expedia" customers and that next time we should book our stay via IHG, Holiday Inn's own customer program. She indicated that she only cares about those online reviews via IHG, and that the Expedia reviews don't count!

The hotel was great, but the area was not the best, family felt unsafe in the 5-7 streets while we walked west towards SOHO, little Italy, etc
