We enjoyed staying here. We had a family room (2 queens & a twin) and it was a great space. The beds were comfy & the room was quiet. This location is near several subways, lots of good restaurants (O’neals & Lombardi’s were favorites) and lots of shops around. This hotel is old and has a lot of character. We enjoyed the historic charm, but if you are into newer/updated/super clean then this isn’t for you. There are no elevators & check in is on 2nd floor. The Sohotel has a small, quaint feel & is well-priced.

Unfortunately internet was down for first day so we’re unable to let family know of safe arrival. Room was much smaller than appears in photos, they did move us to another room that had at least a shelf for clothing. Room was not cleaned EVER during our 3night stay, we left used towels outside our door the second morning ( because we saw others had done this) to indicate we wanted new but came back at night to no towels or cleaning. We helped ourselves to fresh towels. Front desk did not inform us that we needed to request cleaning. We spent little time in our room so otherwise it was good, great location!

I liked this hotel because it felt very NYC to us. It wasn't your basic Holiday Inn with your typical lobby. It was eclectic and fun, but warm and inviting. I also liked that, as a family of five, we could get a room with three actual beds (highly unusual anywhere). Coffee service in the morning was nice, but very limited (no creamer, no Splenda). Rooms are small, but so is everything in NYC. For the price and the cuteness and the easy access to everything including a subway stop/Little Italy/Chinatown/Soho, I would definitely stay here again. I did bring a noisemaker per other's comments about the noise and I do think that was a good choice. This is NYC after all!

This was exactly what my family of five needed. I decent bed to sleep in. The lobby, service and coffee/tea available are great. While in NYC we were gone all day and basically there to hang out for a short while in the evening and sleep. The rooms are nothing special beds/tv/ basic bath but that is all we needed. There is a spot to hang out play games (my boys played chess while eating ice cream every evening).

I liked the location and ease of parking most of all, so important for us! There is no refrigerator, iron, or microwave in the room but that’s ok considering it’s Manhattan. I used to live in the City and expect quaint living spaces. The room was quite cozy for me and my family (4 total). However, the walkability to Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, etc. made up for the lack of space. Beds were comfy and overall, I would book again.

Expedia has this property rated as a 4 star. It is not. It is a 3 star as per their own website. We booked a "junior suite" for 3 times the price of a regular room. It was just a regular room. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. Our room turned out to be on the 4th floor. The gentleman who checked us in offered to help with our bags and then disappeared. No staff really visible or available during our stay. No phones in rooms, so to try to contact the front desk, you use your phone to call the main number. No coffee in rooms. No robes, no slippers, no q-tips, no duvet covers, no housekeeping unless you request it (we did not). Decor is Love Island meets 1980's Goth, but not in a good way. Really dim lighting hiding a lot of chipped paint/deferred maintenance. Our bathroom was nice and I liked the underfloor heating, but no soap dishes are provided so when you open a soap it is just soggy, sticky on the sink. The black "grout" between the tiles in the shower came off on my washcloth. The shampoo/conditioner and body wash are good quality. There is TV, gets about 12 chanels. The TV guide does not work, but it was fairly easy for us to "cast" from our phones and tablets.

I enjoyed my stay here! The room was a tiny bit small for 4 people (stayed in the standard 2 queen room) and the property looked good, you can tell everything isn't like brand new but that's cool with me. Not in a quiet area, I would stay here if you're going out in the city, but maybe not with kiddos. I would come back. Staff was really nice.
