Leon Hotel LES

We are a family of 6 that was looking for a suite to fit all of us. Pros: the area was easily walkable to many attractions, The room was spacious. Rooms were clean and staff cleaned daily. The value for NY was excellent. Cons: Rooms were starting to look rundown. Sheets were pilling. Rug could use replacing. All in all, though i have stayed in better hotels with the family i would return to the LEON for its value and location.

We were a family of 5 and we liked our stay at Leon Hotel, it was perfect for our needs.

We a family five stayed one night. We like how accessible the motel was to the metro and bus stop. The room was comfortable and clean.

The morning we arrived the manager that was on duty was very nasty and rude. After we traveled a very long distance over 950 miles, he informed me that my reservation had been cancelled. I received no notice of this prior to. The previous day I contacted and spoke with a young lady at the desk, she never communicated anything to me about an issue with my card, or that my reservation had been or was in jeopardy of being cancelled. He told us we were sent an email through Orbitz, but we received nothing!!! I honestly feel like this was DISCRIMINATION! We stay at this hotel each time we visit home, and have never had an issue. But, there was always an Hispanic gentleman during the evening hours checking us in. Furthermore; your reservation holds your room until you arrive, then you are charged upon arrival if you chose that option. The manager was so nasty, and extremely unpleasant, he basically threw us; two women out of the hotel with our young children. He did not try to accommodate us in any way or offer us any resolutions! I will never book this hotel EVER again!!! Honestly, he did us a favor, we ended up staying at the MSOCIAL/Novotel Hotel on the west side of Manhattan, and were treated like the QUEENS we are. They even gave us discounts on our rooms due to our unforeseen circumstances. This will definitely be our new choice of "hoteling" The hotel is gorgeous, and has a great ambience. Family friendly, and the staff are absolutely warming and beautiful!!!! BYE LEON!!!

Pros - I've stayed in NYC hotels where the bed practically touched both sides of the room. I thought the size was adequate for just me. Not a noisy place at all and no gigantic throngs of excited tourists or kids. And the room was clean with a view of the bridge. Cons - It's way down in Chinatown, right across from the entrance to the Manhattan Bridge. I stayed there because my business meeting was a five-minute walk away. If I were a tourist, I would want to stay closer to where the action is, maybe midtown. And while there are tons of Chinese restaurants and grocery stores, I found it hard just to buy a bottle of water or find a Starbucks. Also, power outlets were inconvenient. They need a more accessible one at the desk for laptops. Overall not a bad hotel. If I were to have business in that area again, I would consider it. But I would probably compare it to others.
