This hotel is located conveniently around many attractions & shopping. We were so happy with our stay. The hotel is spotless, smells amazing when you walk in and the rooms were a comfortable size for a family of 4. The beds were so comfortable and the complimentary coffee was a nice treat in the morning. We were so pleased with the staff. From start to finish they were so kind & helpful. We would definitely recommend this spot for anyone wanting to stay in Midtown. 5 stars in our books!!

Hotel Theta was the perfect place for our family of 4. Room was large by NYC standards with plenty of room to move about and rest comfortably. The room was clean upon arrival and much to my surprise was serviced daily. The ice machine on the floor also had water which was great for filling our water bottles daily. Staff was friendly and helpful when needed. We stayed on the 14th floor and there was almost no notable noise our entire stay. Location is everything and this hotel is just far enough away from Times Square but still so central to everything and with easy access to the subway. The added bonus to this hotel is the daily wine hour which was a great way to take a break and relax before going back out for more adventures.

Fantastic location, quiet floors, spacious rooms and great service! My family and I had a great stay! If you’re going to see a musical this hotel is the best place to stay… almost everything within a 10 minute walk.

Staff and room amenities were very good. Soft adjustable lighting. Efficient elevators. Beds comfortable. Room spacious for NYC with table and chairs in queen and sectional with coffee table in king. Made it easy to visit with family. 12:00 check out also a plus.

A definite must stay if you’re looking for a charming boutique hotel in Manhattan within walking distance to just about everything with the subway and bus station nearby. The hotel even offered a car service to the airport which we had to pay for but I found a nice touch so we didn’t have the headache of having to call an Uber. It was a nice luxury vehicle too. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and professional from the daily room service staff, maintenance crew, front desk personnel, doorman, to management; everyone was courteous and made us feel welcomed every day of our stay with a friendly hello and good bye as we entered and exited the property. I can’t wait until their rooftop lounge is opened in May. I will be back just to enjoy that. It’s perfectly located near time square, broadway…..everything is close, that is one of the best parts about Kimpton Hotel Theta. My family accompanied me and it also turned out to be a great family hotel. I only gave the surroundings around the hotel four stars because of the occasional NYC squalor and disheartening increase in homelessness and vagrants. However, once you step into the hotel, you are transported into a totally different experience. Also, the television same to lag. I’m not sure it was the internet or because they were doing work to improve the experience. Just look out for that. There was complimentary tea and coffee from 7 to 9 with various continental breakfast options for purchase which was a nice touch.

The hotel was fine in a pinch but I probably wouldn’t stay there again unless I was able to get a REALLY good deal.
Pros:
- decent sized rooms for NYC. The double room was enough space for our family of 4
- relatively quite. while we did hear the old building plumbing sounds from time to time, we didn’t hear people in other rooms which is rare for NYC hotels. These two pros made it a decent place for our young children. I also enjoy the wine o’clock all kimptons offer. It’s a nice touch.
- the staff was lovely
Cons:
- I personally didn’t love the area. We’re used to staying in Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen in comparison feels a little rough around the edges. Great proximity to all the sites we wanted to take our kids to tho so that was helpful.
- the room amenities are lacking. There is no coffee machine or kettle in the room. Our mini fridge didn’t seem to be working and there is no mini bar at all which I believe was listed as an amenity on Expedia. I’m not sure why this bothered me so much but they provided paper cups instead of water glasses. And only two when they knew we were 4 people. For some reason that really left a sour taste in my mouth. I don’t know if paper cups are more eco-friendly than glasses but it really felt like we were at a holiday inn express which I don’t like when I’m paying that kind of money. I’ve had great experiences at kimptons before which is partly why I chose this hotel but it was a little underwhelming.

The hotel was perfect in every aspect! It's just walking distance to most of must-visit places in NYC: Times Square, Empire State Building, etc. Lots of good restaurants nearby. They also provided Happy Social Hour for free wines, which tasted very good too. The hotel ambience was homey and chic. The room was considerably big for NY hotel rooms. There were no construction noise that I was afraid reading many comments talking about it. Me and my family could have very good sleeps there for 6 nights. Amenities were great. Everything was clean. One more most important thing, the staff named Rafael was incredibly nice, he was super helpful with all of me and my family needs. Thank you so much. I will definitsly come back to this hotel again 😊

Stay was good but the front desk staff wss not courteous. We had booked a street view 2-queen deluxe room but they gave us a room with the worst view possible. When we asked about it, not only were they nonchalant, but pretty curt as well when they said a specific view is never guaranteed. Here I want to mention the name of Mr. ERNEST, who was particularly rude. Not only was that the first time, but also when we had to visit the front desk for any subsequent reason and managed to be attended by any of his colleagues, he would leave his work and come over to the other desk to peep and provide unsolicited advice. But apart from that, I had a pleasant stay and the housekeeping staff as well as the guys who took care of my luggage were great guys. The house keeping staff even placed my kid's toys on the bed in an adorable way that all of us pleasantly surprised. There was a problem with one of the drawers as well as the heater in the room, but service was prompt and soon after calling them, they came and fixed it.
