M Social Hotel Times Square New York

Stayed for 2 nights with 2 kids and had a great time. We came for the concert at Radio City and picked this hotel based on location. Room was clean, updated. Staff was very helpful and professional. We loved Times Square view. Walkable distance to attractions and subway. Parking just around the corner..

This review comes with a WARNING! My family had a great time at this hotel as it was in a great location to walk to all the attractions and subway close to travel south to 9/11 memorial. The hotel rooms were kept clean and towels changed daily. WARNING: Staff stated/alleged one of my family had smoked/vaped in the room and I was charged $500 which was taken straight off the card I used at check-in. Firstly not one of my party has ever smoked and it turned out to be the smoke from my daughters hair straighteners, so be cautious when using hair straighteners in the rooms. I have asked the hotel to refund the $500 fee but still haven’t had any correspondence after emailing. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had a similar incident however this should be highlighted in case this happens in future to someone else as there is no signs in the rooms about hair straighteners use. The holiday was great but this event really put a dampener on my trip to New York.

Very little about our experience with this hotel was positive. I understand that we arrived the same day as a global IT outage that caused lots of problems, but nearly all of our friends staying in other hotels were able to check in, while we waited till after 10PM. Upon arrival you needed to queue for nearly 10 minutes just to get an elevator to the lobby (on the 7th floor). To get out of the hotel you also needed to queue. They have two street level elevators, but one has been broken for some time. The lobby is very modern and cool, but often packed with people waiting to check-in. The kids play options are worn out and broken. The rooms themselves were small and cramped. The beds were comfortable, but our room had long hairs everywhere, especially the bathroom. My favorite feature was probably the filtered ice/water dispenser with mini nugget ice on each floor. They had 2-3 bellmen on duty most days, but they rarely tended to guests, most of the they stood around talking to each other while ignoring guests.

Our first night, we had issues with the AC. The room we had felt extremely musty, uncomfortable, like the unit was just circulating old air. When the “engineer” came, he first brushed it off like there’s nothing can be done. After not being able to repair the issue, we were offered another room but it was already late, our stuff was unpacked, child was sleeping, so we opted to move early next morning. Morning comes and they claim they SOLD the other room, and we had to WAIT TILL 4PM for another availability. Plus we had to move out of our current room. We did not appreciate the way they brushed off the AC situation, even saying all the rooms are the same like that. We asked 3 other guests on the top 3 floors, they confirmed their rooms are nice and cold in the 60’s, while ours stayed 76 the whole time. It was incredibly a huge hassle, we had to pack all our belongings, move out to return the room by 11am, and come back around 4pm to check in AGAIN. Also, only 1 elevator was working and there’s almost always a line. The location & luggage service downstairs was great. But overall the hotel made our stay a bit stressful.

This was our first visit to New York so we had no idea what area was good to stay in. After some research and reading several reviews we decided to stay at MSocial. We had a really good view of times Square from our room which was interesting to see just how busy and entertaining that area is in the evening. The restaurant was decent , the food was good , there is a store inside the hotel which is convenient in case you need a few essentials. There is a parking garage across the street that we booked a spot using the Park Whiz App. Overall the hotel was good , the only down side was no microwave in the room , the carpets could use a steam cleaning and there was a pair of metal tweezers left from previous guests on the floor beside the bed the kids slept on which I hadn't noticed until we were packing up( just glad they didn’t step on them ) Hotels can be hit and miss and we feel the MSocial was a great Hotel to stay in , we felt comfortable , safe and it was in good proximity to several attractions. If we were to return to New York we would definitely consider staying there again. Thank-you

This hotel is located within easy walking distance of Broadway, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center and Radio City. Subway stop across the block. Great staff, great for families, we will stay here again.

The perfect hotel for my family on our NY visit. So centrally located, an amazingly helpful staff, great, modern room and amenities, and an overall excellent pick for a short visit.

I was expecting the typical tiny NYC hotel room, but was pleasantly surprised to have plenty room for my family of 4 to share. We loved the location, close to time square and broadway! The highlight of our stay at M Social was our housekeeper, Cindy. Every morning we were greeted, she made us feel at home. I really feel like she goes above and beyond to make people feel welcomed! Every hotel needs a Cindy!

Overall a really enjoyable experience for the first time to New York with our children.

Clean, fairly quiet, and great value. Great for families. Kids loved the games near the lounge!
