Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel

I forgot to take my hair trimmer from my room, and I never got it back again. In the mini bar there are some very small snacks about 50g for 50 Dirham (around £12), while in many other hotels such snacks are free of charge for children.

My experience this time was not good at all. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. This time I went with two couples of friends. I recommended the hotel but I regret it. It started with the first change of towels that came torn and the bathrobe too. How can a hotel on the Jumeirah Palm do such a thing. The same thing happened in my friends' room too. The bathrooms were in a well-used condition, the mirror had signs of age. And finally, when we went to check out, the receptionist told us that we had broken the mirror at the top. Something impossible to happen, no one was or is a child. How to say something like this? On what basis did they accuse us of this? This is a lack of respect for people. I no longer recommend this hotel.

We only stayed for 1 night, but that was enough!!!!!!!!! I've never done a poor review in my life, but I have to warn people here it's just not fair. Arrived late in the day around 5pm local time, checked in went to the room and got ready to have a quick dip in the pool after doing the normal tourist day in Dubai. Room smelt musty and damp. 10 minutes into the trip my 7 year old sliced her big toe in the swimming pool floor due to missing tiles, now I thought Dubai and the cost of the hotel this is impossible, so after further inspection half of the walls and floor in the pool are missing tiles making this dangerous to anybody not just children. The lifeguard did however help stop the bleeding and dress the cut. We went out to eat due to the poor start and poor response from the reception team, clearly happens more than it should. Then to top the trip off, the next door room seems to think its acceptable at almost 1am to ring the doorbell over 50 times to wake up there family inside. But whilst doing so wakes my child up who I struggle to settle most nights. Had one of the worst sleeps away from home, ever. Again reception, Told they will investigate and offered late check-out. This was not an option as my child didn't want to use the pool and the other children followed suit due to poor state of pool facilities. So checked out and left first thing in the morning. Overall the worst stay I've had from home. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you have young children.

Excellent family holiday

We love travelling with my wife and finally we found a perfect hotel in a perfect location with perfect food, beach and swimming pool with fantastic views. We absolutely love the Dukes Hotel and we will definitely recommend to all our family and friends. Everything is fabulous here

This is one of the best properties I have stayed while on vacation. The beds were very comfortable. There was a large variety of food. The staff was very accommodating and treated my family and I like we were the only guests on the property. I would highly recommend this property! GREAT STAY!!!!!

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Deluxe room was nice but dirty. Pool towels in a terrible state and we were handed dirty ones on one occasion. First day our toddler was still asleep with the time difference from UK and I was stopped taking fruit from the breakfast buffet for him to have once he woke up. Some staff were rude, not the usual hospitality you receive in 5 star hotels in Dubai. Pretty sure we were charged more for room service orders than what we actually ordered so keep your receipts as reading reviews on here afterwards others have had same issue. Although there’s a kids club its very basic and pool is not child friendly at all. We definitely won’t be back to Dukes.
