Mandarin Oriental, Singapore (SG Clean)

The hotel is spotless and the staff are so friendly and amazing. We loved our room (1535) and we had an early check in which was appreciated. We ate in the hotel and although expensive the food was perfect. Our only complaint was that an event was held on the Thursday evening, the pool was closed at 8pm (usually open till 10) and we felt that the residents were not given the attention we had previously received. We ordered room service and the food was below standard, we left half of it. We had no notice of the event and the loud music went on until 1am keeping us awake. The only other touches we would have liked is a heated towel rail for drying swimwear. In checkout we checked our bill and found charges that weren't ours on it, they were removed straight away but make sure you check as ours totalled $200 for breakfasts for a family. There is also building works over the road which we weren't informed of. Overall it's a lovely hotel but let down by communication and when they have events on.

This is really a business hotel suited for people coming in and out of Singapore for meetings or breakfast/lunch meetings. The hotel is generally fine but hasn’t been fully upgraded throughout and certainly parts of it feel dated or worn out. There was a damp smell coming from the area outside our room which needed to be dehumidified, and our room constantly felt “wet” while our kids room was much dryer. Service is good and there are 2-3 restaurants in the hotel which were generally empty (and we stayed while Taylor Swift was in town) but with decent food. Rooms are small but adequate. Hotel is located close to the Marina Bay Sands and the SunTec mall. There was a lot of construction going on outside and the immediate area is otherwise empty. About a 10-15 min drive to the malls in Orchard and anywhere else in the main southern part of Singapore you might want to go which is convenient. Overall the hotel is functional with good service but lacks energy and character, and I left feeling there was nothing memorable about my stay.

Truly exceptional stay over NYE at the MO Singapore. The renovation is fabulous and the property is stunning. Our Marina Bay view room overlooking the fireworks was a night to remember. A bit of a mixup at check in for our extended stay however Cindy and team were there to address our concerns and create a memorable stay that my family will remember for a lifetime. Hats off the the team and I look forward to returning at some point in the future.
