This is a very good hotel. We were there for a family vacation and our stay turned out to be very comfortable. The only issue we had is one of the cafeteria staff was rude. Overall service and food quality was good though.

I’ve stayed in many hotels in NYC while traveling for work and for medical appointments, and the experience at this hotel has been the absolute Worst! My first night, was weird. A maintenance worker randomly walked into my room while my daughter was getting dressed, The manager then called me to say “ yeah sorry he didn’t know the room was occupied” All he had to do was knock! The fridge in my room didn’t work at all and it also smelled like fish, I thought I paid for a “ city view” and the view was to the back of a building across the street. But wait there’s more! As I am exiting the building after checkout, with my sick child who just had surgery, another guest decided that he wanted to ram into me and argue after I told him to pay attention. He called me the “N” word several times as well. Let’s also keep in mind, that the hotel is located near the Nigerian Embassy and to have racial slurs shouted to me at 10 am was quite the experience. Never again EVEN! I wish I could get all of my money back !

The Even Hotel was perfect for our family trip to NYC. Location is great- close to subway and Grand Central but quiet and off the beaten path for sleep. So many great restaurants around- check out Amaze Asian Fusion. Clean and comfortable hotel. Loved the cork floors.

Enrique, the bartender was one of my coolest and nicest people! My family and I were very appreciative of being in his warm and professional hands! The reception and housekeeping support staff were equally nice and welcoming and outside, as well!

The rooms were too small for 3 adults and 1 child and significant lack of control on our level resulted from noisy occupants running between rooms.

We had a great time in NY with our 17 & 20 year old kids. Needed two rooms and Malaika made it so we had adjoining rooms. Huge call out to Malaika who at 1am when we checked in said the one bedroom had a link that was supposed to one of ours. She gave us an extra room for the night and said she would get it all figured out in the morning, which she did. She was so nice and made sure everything got figured out. Wish everyone in the hotel industry was like her! Clean rooms, great location to Grand Central. Great steakhouse next door.

The room with two double beds was much too small for my 2 children and me - beds were fine, but there was nowhere to sit or place suitcases. The cleaning staff missed a few spots. The restaurant/lobby area was booked for an event Friday night, so only a few tables were available for hotel guests and my kids and I had to eat in our room (we didn’t want to go out in the rain and had not expected there would be nowhere to sit and eat a light dinner inside the hotel). The reception staff was very helpful and kind.

Great hotel, relaxed , modern, practical, location great and a good price . Comfort is excellent the bed was 10/10, well noise insulated rooms and great added touches in the room with the exercise element.
No frills on the service side of lobby. Bar (open from 5) and breakfast all in same area , nice outside seating area. Breakfast fixed menu options (no buffet) were very healthy and different but small portions, limited for younger children.
Overall I was very impressed and highly recommend. We were a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and a lot of luggage , so 2 interconnecting rooms is better . Tip 2 large under bed pull out drawers for added storage

My family and i have have stayed at several hotels in New York and this has to be one of the better ones. When traveling, especially to New York, we don't ask for much, just a clean space to lay our heads comfortably. It's in a nice, safe section of the city, with solid restaurants nearby. It's not in a crowded area, and there is a Duane Reade/Walgreens just steps away where you can pick up fast snacks.

We did not end up staying here as the day we were to check in, EVEN hotel called to say they were overbooked and moved us to a different hotel in another part of town. They promised it was for a comparable room as I was traveling with 2 kids. When we arrived at the new hotel, they did not have a room for all of us and had gotten incorrect info from EVEN about what we needed. I called EVEN to have them find us a new room. I spoke with 3 different people before someone tried to actually help correct the problem (the first person offered me a room in Brooklyn for much more per night, despite having already paid for my room in midtown). The third person did call around and try to find us a room, but only found something much farther away, and told me I wouldn’t get a refund. In fact, I was informed I’d have to pay an extra fee. Luckily, the hotel staff at hotel #2, where I was in while working on this, were extremely kind and actually helped find a beautiful room for my kids and I to stay in. I was very unimpressed with how EVEN handled the whole situation and won’t be reserving with them again.
