We had a great stay at Chelsea Pines Inn, and it's easy to see why this is the #1 rated hotel in NYC. Besides the very reasonable price, the best thing about this place is the staff. They make you feel like family. Very friendly, they put you at ease and have great recommendations for things to do / eat in the city. We were on the 4th floor and the lack of elevator didn't bother us, but I can imagine it being an issue for other people, so be warned about that. The location is fantastic, with lots of delicious food within a short walk and the train station right on the corner. And they make a homemade apple cider that is amazing. If you're looking for a 5-star posh hotel then look elsewhere, but this place has my vote for best value in the city.

The staff is wonderful, the breakfast is amazing and the hotel is delightful. My only reason for giving a 4 on room comfort is that the daybed was not the most comfortable. I would however loved to have one of the pillows they were amazing! We enjoyed our staff and the restaurant recommendations were top! These guys know how to treat guests and make you feel like family!
