Hotel de la Paz

Such a great experience our family of 6 stayed here and had a great stay. The hotel is very conveniently located in the historical center, and everything is extremely close and walkable. The hotel was clean, and everything was perfect. They also have air conditioning available, and overall amazing. Highly recommend.

Hotel de La Paz is one of several hotels owned and operated by the same seemingly family-owned company “Grupo Leyenda”. Many of the staff have been working in this group of hotels for 7-10 years, and they all know each other. That turns out to be quite helpful because the feeling of being cared for remains consistent, at least in the two properties I’ve stayed in. This particular hotel is right on the main square and three of its rooms have views overlooking the square, including the Basilica which is illuminated beautifully at night. Noise from the square is periodic and dies down by 10pm or 11pm on Friday and Saturday night. The windows are something like 12 to 15 feet tall and have big wooden shutters to give you that blackout feel. The beds are firm and very comfortable. And in the cold months these rooms are ideal due to the sun coming in and warming the floor. 48 degree nights doesn’t sound bad until you realize there is no heating, so that sun in these rooms does just the trick! I will always choose this place when I come back! Special mention to Gina, Oscar, Miguel-angel, Anna and Fernando and Isak. There is another staff person at the front desk here at lot and I am sorry I forgot her name. Guadalupe cleans the rooms and Rosario and Raul tend the dining room for the breakfast cooked by Antonio. The team is amazing and they really make all the difference.
