Hotel San Diego

Family trip- 16 members. All family members were very pleased with this property for its value, location, and friendly professional staff. We loved the rainy weather and got to do callejoneada in the tunnels, city tour, and so much more. This property is so convenient that you must stay at on your first trip to Guanajuato.

The Staff was really helpful & friendly. I definitely will recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

This Hotel is centrally located in the town square, making it convenient to walk, shop and eat. However, had I read reviews of how loud it is in the rooms, I would have booked elsewhere. There is several clubs that play music, and all the students Hang outside making it extra loud. The hotel windows are single pane glass allowing all the noise from the outside. Our first night being a Monday, music ended around 3am, Tuesday night around 4am, had we booked a third night, I would have taken my family elsewhere. This place would have been perfect had they invested in new windows that sealed some of the outside noise. If you are here to party, then this is for you since you will be up all night, however, if you are a family visiting hoping to get a good nights rest after a day of site seeing, please look outside the city center. The only great thing about this hotel was the location, which was amazing…We booked a 2 room “suite” for 2 nights, as this was our first time to this amazing city, the “suite” which was anything but a suite. The room they assigned us to was on the 2nd floor above a very busy street, we had 2 step out small balconies that had bars over the French doors so we could not even step out on them, the room also faced a very popular nightclub called the Grill which didn’t close till 5 AM and had pounding music all night which kept the 5 of us awake much of the night, thank god for ear plugs. We complained on the second day and they offered to move us to a smaller room inside the hotel with only a window in the bathroom, so we decided to stay in the noisy room, as we needed the bigger room for the family. The conditions of the bed linens and towels were sub-standard, see attached pic’s of the hole in the sheet and the rough paper thin frayed bath towels that were more like large hand towels and not bath size. We will never stay at this hotel again and feel hotels.com should do their homework before recommending this hotel to their members, as it certainly was not a good experience for us. Thank you…
