We had a wonderful stay here and will definitely be back. Most important for us were: the availability of the suite for our family (a great set-up with an amazing amount of room and storage for NYC, at a good price), and location location location! We also found the staff wonderful and helpful, and the morning breakfast (which was included with our rate) had plenty of options. Took advantage of afternoon snacks too. Minor quibbles were a handful of things weren’t working between the two different rooms we reserved (all were fixed by prompt and professional maintenance staff right away) and some things about the room were dated. These are quibbles though and will definitely be back, especially when traveling with our child.

Hotel Giraffe was a great "find" for our family's first trip to NYC. We loved having a small suite / seating area during the day and a pull out bed at night. The room was good sized, comfortable, clean and quiet. The morning breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. It was also convenient to the subway. I highly recommend for travelers of all kinds.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 18 days in January. The hotel thoughtfully asked if we needed transfers to and from the airport and without us asking allocated us to rooms next door to each other. I found the room I had was perfectly sized and comfortable for my long stay. My friend had a room with a living room which was useful when we stayed in one night. Overall I had a fantastic stay and would stay again and recommend friends and family to stay here as well.
Things you should be aware of. Kettles are not available in your room so if you want a kettle for a cup of tea after a long hard day of shopping and lunching, you can ask for one from reception and the lovely ladies in housekeeping will bring one to you. What I thought was a mini fridge didn’t work and when I asked reception about it, they said it was for storage but they could bring a mini fridge up to me. I didn’t bother and stored things in my friend’s mini fridge which worked. Also if you are staying for a long time, the hotel charges your card (ie not a hold but actual charge) after you reach a certain limit which surprised us as we were not told about this at check in and only realised while we were out. This is not an issue but some notice would have been good.

This was definitely worth the money 😍 my family and I were treated so well and so polite and respectful I really appreciate the services and hospitality.
The rooms are definitely more inviting than many other places we’ve been too. This might be our usual place to stay in the future as many other hotels always have issues

Hotel Giraffe is in a great location close to some of my fav areas of NYC like Flatiron and Gramercy. Our room is much more spacious than any room our family has at any other hotel. We love the cafe area next to the lobby that is self service and open all day - the convenience of getting soft drinks, coffee, tea, fruits, snacks, etc at any time without extra charges. The front desk staff were so genuinely service oriented, efficient and friendly. I had positive experience with each person encountered at the front desk. No doubt we will be back at this family friendly and comfortable boutique hotel. There is nothing I can say that needs improvement.

The room was large compared to most NYC hotel rooms. Quiet except for kids screaming in the hallway (not the hotel's fault). My two fave restaurants steps away.

Wonderful European feeling hotel. Small boutique hotel, maybe 70 or 80 rooms, nightly wine and cheese with piano, cappucino/tea/snacks available in lobby 24/7, rooms are solid, professionally decorated and quiet. Generally attracts a higher class of guests, although there are some kids around which is a drawback. In all worked very well for business trip, very close to 6 subway line

Great stay. Quiet. Mature, respectful guests. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Away from the hustle and bustle. Not for those with active young families or those wanting to be in the middle of all the action at your doorstep.
Would return many times over
