Gevora Hotel

Gevora is my hotel whenever am in Dubai. Price was very good and the staff are awesome. Been to Gevora 2 times in 4 months and I highly recommend it to all my friends and family.. located at the center of Dubai easy access to everything. From Houston Texas visiting Dubai for valentines week and my Girl love the hotel ..

The hotel was totally fine, staff were lovely, beds comfy and clean. For some reason the room has a full kitchen with stovetop and rangehood, full size fridge freezer, cupboards galore (all basically empty) but a sign saying you cannot cook there. Seems like a waste of space. The pool was nice and there is a pretty cool car museum with a lot of cars which my teenage kids thought was pretty good. Personally it felt like it was not accessible to walk anywhere from - it was sort of on a big highway area, but then again it seems a lot of Dubai is like that, traffic was pretty bad around there too and it took a long time to get out of the area although apparently there was some exhibition on or something at the time we were there. There is a great place to eat though called Zaroob with great schwarmas etc just a few mins walk down the road. We didnt eat at the hotel, we were only there a couple of nights. Lifts take a while sometimes as it is so tall I guess, we stayed on the 63 floor. I would probably choose somewhere that was closer to access the pool (maybe a floor level closer as pool on 12 floor) and maybe had areas to just wander outside and feel like you were somewhere nice next time, but it was a good experience all in all.

The location is great. Compared to other hotels nearby this isn’t value for money. Don’t be fooled by the Gold exterior. The rooms are dated. Needs TLC. There’s a cooker in the room which you can’t use. The Nespresso machine capsules are only given on day of arrival, if you want more these need to be purchased. The lifts take forever. The pool area is nice the music is not family friendly. Lot of tracks with vulgar language.

We wanted to stay at Gevora to experience the worlds tallest hotel and it was truely a painful experience. I don’t know how anyone can stay there for more than one night. You will spend more time waiting around for the lift to arrive at your floor then doing anything else. I’m not sure who approved the design and decided to have three lifts reaching the 72 floor and the other three only going to the 41 at floor. I don’t make sense, maybe it was a kid on work experience. Although it’s your average 4 star hotel the High View Lounge was phenomenal and kind of made up for the lifts. Don’t recommend for family kids etc. only stay one night… seriously I will reiterate… you need a patient of a saint to wait for those lifts… hats off to the workers there.
