Historia Hotel - Special Class

We chose this hotel for location and price. It's walking distance from the major sites in the old town; also is next to a street with a dozen or more restaurants open for lunch and dinner. A fresh Turkish breakfast (eggs, meats, yogurt, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, simit and other breads, coffee/tea) is included; service was excellent, from the front desk people who were very generous with information, tips, and a card for the tram to which we easily added more cash; to the delightful Cetin who commandeers the breakfast and kitchen. The staff works hard to keep the hotel and rooms clean. The kids enjoyed the many cats and kittens who showed up at the windows during breakfast. The cotton sheets and comforters were excellent; there were plenty of pillows; the shower was small but adequate. What the hotel lacks in aesthetics (primarily due to the historic nature of the building and surrounding area), more than makes up it for with charming staff, great location, super price, and a decent breakfast. It was helpful for our fam of 5 to have rooms with 3 beds. Two rooms worked well for us.
