Booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids specifying age. Room only had 2 tiny single beds and was charged extra for beds for the kids

Well, this is my first time writing review of an hotel. I normally only stay in the positive side. However, I am taking this opportunity to express my disappointment. Honestly speaking, I have nothing bad to say about their facility or service staff. It is their reservation department. I booked 2 rooms by mistake on 3/31; the 3 of us actually arrived around 11pm on 3/30. Front desk told us the rooms are for tomorrow night. When they called the reservation department, reservation insisted that our booking cannot be moved because of our room type. They suggested we pay for the current night (3/30) and ask Expedia to cancel tomorrow (3/31) for us. We did. We paid for another 2 rooms and got checked in after mid night and left the the hotel around 5:30am the next morning. However, when we contacted Expedia for the cancellation on 3/31, Expedia told us that despite they explained the situation and sent them email as instructed, the hotel simply say "No" on 4/1. Well, here is the situation... according to the rules, they have the rights to say NO because of the room type. However, we as travellers expect a little bit more friendly treatment, not simply a "NO" after all the process and efforts even with Expedia. If they should say no, tell us when we arrive and we would try to have our local friends to spend a night there, not to waste that night and only know it on 4/1. Well, you can say policy is policy. but they will not serve me or my family again.

Spent 4 nights. Good location with nearby bus stops and subway access. However, only stairs available to entre the hotel, not convenient for travels with heavy luggage or kids pram.

The check-in was quick. Our rooms were only ready at 4pm and that is after having to keep checking on the status. When I came in to the room, there were not bath towels or bath mat given. It became slippery after showering which caused my child to slip and fall. There were also stains on the bedsheets.
