Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality (SG Clean)

Friendly staff, comfy beds, good size room (family of 4), buffet breakfast had a great variety of food. What would be very helpful was a place to hang towels in the room.

Hotel is very dated with carpet stains and strong room perfume permeating the halls to cover the mustiness. They were in the middle of room renovations next to our room. Room was ok, bigger than most Singapore hotel rooms with 1 king and 1 twin which was perfect for our family of 3. The only goos thing is its location where there are tons of restaurants, dining options and convenient stores around. Very convenient location near parkway parade mall etc.

Pleasantly surprised about everything in this hotel from location to pricing to the whole deal. Very large rooms for Singapore standards, was very useful with an infant

Displeased Happening during last night !! What was supposed to be a wonderful family vacation turned into a nightmare for us on our last night at the hotel. Around 12 midnight – we had heard the electricity in the room switch off without a warning, which resulted in a complete loss of power - no light, no air-conditioning (in the heat of Singapore), no WiFi provided, telephone in the room were not working so we weren’t able to call down to reception to enquire immediately and also found that aside from the entrance ceiling light in the room were all completely switched off without a warning, even the 8th floor common areas/corridor and hotel three elevators had no sound and were not functioning. We thought that the hotel staff would inform us if it was anything more concerning. But of course, this meant a restless night as this situation continued until 3am. More ridiculous was the managers' way to us, they insisted to say it's maintenance work and notified beforehand. They showed poor hospitality manner and lacked of profession !

Disappointed that the pre organised porta cot was not in the room when we arrived (late flight and needed to get kids to bed quickly). In room dining option was not open and room had a loud buzzing noise from the aircon. Maintenance could not solve the issue and offered to change rooms however as 1 child was sleeping we could not change rooms. Overall offered was offered a 50% discount however it was not the hotel experience I expected or matched the high price we paid. Will not stay again.

Stayed two nights with two rooms at this property. Check in was supposed to be from 2pm and when we tried to check in at 3pm (we arrived Singapore at 7am so was looking forward to resting and showering at hotel) we were told one of the rooms have vacated but not yet cleaned whilst the departing guests at the other room (we requested adjacent rooms for our children) has late check out to 4pm!! So we had no rooms until after 4pm and the other room was only available to us close to 6pm! When we expressed our dissatisfaction they offered us two rooms on two different floors and said our request for adjacent rooms are our requests only and the hotel does not have to meet them. Rooms are spacious but the shower head holder in one of our rooms is broken which means we had to hold the shower head instead of leaving it on the wall. Will be reluctant to go back.

Reception quite friendly. Check-in quickly and friendly. Balcony available which was quite good for relaxing in the evening. Room good equipped but a little bit older. Air condition quite noisy so with jet lag quite difficult to fall asleep. I expected a king size bed. Instead I got a room for 4 persons with two smaller double beds (for families travelling excellent but for business purposes (as for my journey) the surface area gets then very tight. Reasonable pricing for the offered service.

Good service, clean and big room. Very convenient location with lots of food choices around the area. My family enjoyed our 1 night staycation and would love to be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Village Hotel Katong. The staff were very friendly. It was in a great location as we didn’t want to be in the noisy CBD area. It was close to the beach, lots of restaurants, malls, and the kids loved the pool. Walking distance from the bus, markets etc. Great location. Breakfast was the best I’ve had at any hotel here.

I just stay one night with my kid. We arrived to the hotel at around 6. I was travelling with 2 big + 1 hand carry luggages, I expected there are staff assistance to bring my luggages out from the taxi and to the counter. However, there was nobody in the lobby and i have to push my luggages with my kid. There was only 1 staff in the counter. The lobby looks modern n clean. But the room is so so, which i feel the floor is sticky when i walked with the slipper provided. The service is good and the staff answered me all the questions i need. Honestly it's ok to stay for one night but it's not really worthwhile to pay this price if I need to stay more than 1 night.
