Hotel Tirolerhof

I came to Tiroler Hof with my family about 6 times but hadn't been for about 8 years! It's a lovely hotel and the spa is a fab way to unwind after skiing. The ski bus is a few minutes walk that goes frequently to the Smittenhohe bahn. The room is spacious and clean, shower's a little on the small side and twin beds pushed together to make a double. The food was great, fab salad buffet. We were placed in the extension for our first few nights, felt a bit out of the way there. Staff friendly, and would go back. We squeezed in a 4 night break with 3 days skiing flying into Salzburg and would do it again.

Arrived early afternoon and met with a welcome drink. Very friendly, helpful staff and nothing too much trouble. The family were also 'hands on' as we stayed during the Christmas period. Situated close to the centre, the hotel is very well run, has a cosy feel and would love to go back. Meals were also very generous and well prepared.

You have much to be proud of!! We appreciated all the little touches that the owners provided, from the handwritten welcome note from the family to the wonderful cookies as we checked out. Although we do not know them, they made us feel part of their family for one night. The room was fine, very clean and well appointed. What would really bring us back for another stay would be the restaurant. A huge applause to the Chef and team for creating such an elegant and delicious dinner buffet. It was such high quality that we voted it our best meal in Austria...a rating we would rarely give to a buffet. Familie Posch, you have much to be proud of!

Pre-arrival I arranged various things with the hotel, parking spot reservation, ski instructor etc. All was very well handled and arranged. Upon arrival you could tell you were expected, suitcases were whisked up to the room and we were left to enjoy prosecco while completing the registration form. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner during our stay and met pretty much everyone that works in this family business. Professional, polite with a genuine smile. All our requests were met with no hassle. The spa is extensive and an added bonus. The real treat is the location...5' walk from the CityXpress Lift to all the skiing and no more than a 5' bus ride to the Schmittenhohe lift station for the rest of the slopes. As far as the town and its amenities, right on your door step. Zell am See is a perfectly organised ski resort. Hotel Tirolerhof made that much more perfect!
