Elite Byblos Hotel

Pros: Comfortable Friendly & helpful staff (mostly) Affordable Food is decent & relatively well-priced Free water Clean hotel, nice pool Cons: Internet is terrible! Soda & other drinks way overpriced. Go down the street to the local markets for drinks. Our room lights randomly turning on while trying to sleep. TV only local content, no way to connect to YouTube, Netflix, etc. HDMI cable did not work with TV. If it rains, huge puddles out front prevent travel. Loud thumping music and kids screaming until 2-3am EVERY night. Laundry service fees are ridiculous! We stayed 20 days and needed laundry done. A small bag, not even a full load of laundry, would have cost us over $80 USD. Laundry service was rude. Fridge needs replacement, barely cold, food spoils, leaking water from who knows where. Sink drain in our room was broken and would fall off every time you ran water, couldn’t be closed. Had to ask staff for many things that should have been part of the room cleaning (e.g., clean glasses, toilet paper), and sometimes had to ask for the same thing multiple times. Says 5 star. I’m curious: Out of how many stars? I’m not sure if the rating is like US, but I have stayed at better hotels rated 3 stars. Tile around pool is VERY slippery. Be careful!!!! My husband, my son, and I ALL almost fell.

I stayed here for 10 nights on half board. I was travelling with 2 young children so was pretty reliant on the hotel. The good bits: Rooms are huge. I had a 2 bedroom suite. Never used the lounge part as bedrooms were huge. Lifts are good. Food didn’t give anyone an upset tummy. The bad parts. We started in room 311. I asked on check in about the noisy night club which is mentioned in reviews, to be told there is no nightclub. First night, settled about 11pm, then it starts…..boom boom boom. And I don’t mean a little noise, it goes through you, through the pillows and walls. Until 2/3am!! I tolerated 3 nights, then we requested a move. To 1211. But you can still hear and feel the boom booms until 3am! It was the worst ever! The pool was crowded, lots of ‘invisible friends’ people keeping beds free for their mates…. Plus more boom boom gangman style music. What is with the base in this hotel! I bought a beer and 2 sodas on the roof, this cost me 100dirhans - so not an option for the next day! Breakfast same food every day. Got boring very quickly. There was free water in the room, but it tasted a little salty. I only survived on deliveroo! My room 1211 was not serviced once and I had to ring up for towels etc. Certainly not a 5 star hotel!

The first day there was no problems, but the second day the wi-fi was not working. They tried to fix it, but we had the same problems the day after, so we could not work from the room but had to go in the reception/lobby. Then we had problems with the service, we ordered food from outside, and asked the hotel to bring us plates/spoon, it took them 45 minutes. Nexg day we asked for some plates/spoon, they did not come and we had to call them twice. They were not busy, they just forgot us. We also had some problems with the lobby calling us in the morning 04-05 am, and we asked them why they called us, it was a mistake. Btw we have to kids, so it was very disturbing.
