I am not going to believe reviews anymore. I canceled my reservation at Ajwa in Sultanahmet to book here because of the reviews. The most unforgivable issue was the sewage smell in our room the second we entered and every day we were there. We complained to the front desk multiple times but no one could do anything because of the where the room was located, right above the sewer line. The room number is 1101. Avoid it at all costs. Every single day we had to open the windows to air out the horrible smell. My son almost threw up because of the smell. We are not confrontational so we did not ask for another room but I feel they cheated us by giving us that room. 2 - We asked for a private Bosphorous tour with an English speaking guide. This was not cheap. This was €350 for two hours.. They arranged for the boat from almost 20 km from the city. The boat captain did not speak a word of English. He took us on the most boring tour did not show any of the sites and we saw other private boats going all the way near Sultanahmet While we turned right near Galata which is not even 1/4 of the way. He was inching his way back just so he can make it 2 hours. We couldn’t get a taxi back since it was so far away and we struggled for almost an hour with a kid on the street and nobody spoke English. We finally found a taxi who took us back to the hotel. When we said this to the hotel they did not even apologize they just said oh they did not know that he didn’t speak English.

Thanks to the front desk staff at the hotel - Arafat and Crew. They also make sure that we are well taken care of in our favourite themed room. Rooms are spotlessly clean. Their breakfast is now also served on the 6th - beautiful views over the city. Tried their oat porridge this time round… hooked… takes me back to childhood days. Their insights and guidance to sights/events within the city, invaluable.
