Hotel Perula

Wonderful staff! Went with family member to tour and visit local friend. Comfy, clean and quiet accommodations. Great food on top floor of hotel with beautiful view. Front desk/hotel management was very helpful with directions and easy to communicate with as my Turkish was very limited. Great location for popular tourist sites and quick access to taxi or public transportation. Extended our stay a few more days because the hotel was a great choice.

The hotel room was clean and more than enough for a single person. I loved the two complementary water bottles in the small fridge. The staff was friendly and helpful. They helped me arrange a taxi to the airport. The driver was on time and professional. The location is great if you're looking to stay in Sultanahmet. Now, the weird part. Before checking in, the staff messaged me offering transportation services from IST to the hotel for €45, in cash. I was not familiar with transportation in Istambul and didn't have time to research in advance, so I accepted. At the airport, I met with the driver and we walked together to a limo-style van for at least 6 people. This is convenient if you're traveling with your family or in a big group, but I was alone. That's when I realized I over-payed for the service. and it felt a bit like a cheat because the staff knew I was traveling alone. In the end, I was able to pay ₺820 for the service, and on the way back to the airport the receptionist helped me hire a taxi that took me to IST for ₺400. All in all, I would go back to this place but I would be careful about the "transportation services."
