NH Catania Parco Degli Aragonesi

We visited Catania for just one week with the whole family (5 pers.). The hotel was fine and had a very good bus connectivity directly to the city.

First and foremost, this is not a cheap Hotel and therefore you do expect a certain level. Very convenient for the airport and very close to the beach but what is really lacking is information, both about the Hotel i.e. procedures, times etc, and how to get around e.g. transport etc. In my opinion, this Hotel is mainly set up for short stay and business guests. If you are a family and just want pool or beach fine. However, I would like to praise the reception staff generally for their courteousness and efficient and friendly service. Also the breakfast staff were first rate, and the breakfast more than adequate. I wish I could say the same for the evening service. It is no surprise to find guests in the local restaurants and bars, which are excellent by the way.

We have just had a wonderful week at this hotel - location was great, staff were very kind and always willing to help, hotel exceptionally clean. I went with my 2 daughters and throughout our stay, we felt very safe. There was a good mixture of guests at the hotel including Italian, French and English families as well as business people. The swimming pool was lovely as was the private beach - a real plus - with a hotel lifeguard at each venue. The hotel is about 10 mins drive out of town, situated in front of a number of public lidos (beaches), however there is the free hotel shuttle bus to get into Catania and the public buses are very frequent (last bus from town at 12.40am - use line D buses) and take you to Piazza Borsellino. Buy bus tickets from the cafe next to McDonalds by the bus station. We could not have chosen a better hotel for its location and the quality of the stay.
