Ferman Port Hotel

Overall,the hotel gives off a really good vibe , but our deluxe family suite looked very tired in terms of decor - scuffs and scrapes all around the walls from furniture or suitcases- making it feel scruffy. The shower door didn't fit properly causing water to leak out onto the floor and pool in a corner , the air conditioning is not air conditioning - it is a hotel wide ventilation system that you can only turn on or off. The control panels are for air con units but do nothing except on or off. In our case (December 20 -23) the hotel was heating the place so it got very hot and stuffy at night with no cooler ventilation (no windows). Even turning the whole thing offf didn't do much. Staff were very helpful generally and breakfast on the top floor is good , though not amazing. Location is excellent as a base though a bit random in terms of arrival as the taxi can't actually get down the street so you are set down on the main road and have to find the entrance in the back alleys. Once found it's fine - just a bit worrying on first arrival. Very close to tram and ferry so really easy to get around. Overall a good stay but wouldn't really class it as a 4 star special category , more a 3 star special !

We were a family of 4 (two teenagers) who stayed 4 nights at Ferman Port Hotel, Deluxe Family Suite. The hotel has an excellent location - walking distance to many sights and also very quiet. The tram is just 100 meters away, and it takes you to all the main sights. The room was very clean, but there was no window, which felt a bit claustrophobic. There was just a "fake window" - not possible to look out. No sofa or places to sit, only on the beds. One bed was making noises/ creaking sounds when you moved in your sleep. A bit annoying. The roof top terrace has great view of the bosporous. This is where you have your breakfast. The breakfast is traditional and ok. We would have preferred freshly squeezed juice. But all over very nice. The service was great, very helpful people. They arranged reservations and taxis. Never any issues or misunderstandings. Spoke very good english. We can highly recommend the hotel, just ask for a room with a window :)

The hotel is great. We got a family room and it was excellent. Spotless and big. Staff helpful and friendly. There is room for breakfast improvement.

I'm going to start with the front desk Hasan he's magnificent, outstanding customer service made us feel welcomed to Istanbul and the hotel, the breakfast crew was better than any other high-end hotel in the world, attentive to our liking and food preference even made us a traditional (Menemen) egg breakfast every morning for us. Our room was facing the water in the 3rd floor, with modern finishes and very accommodating for our family of 3. I would say location worked out great for us in the middle of old and new city, Galata bridge, Spice market, metro station and ferry port all a few steps away. Only thing that you should be aware is that the hotel has no access to the street and it could be slightly difficult to find if you are not aware of this information, but with all this in mind we loved our stay at Ferman Port Hotel and we highly recommend your stay here sincerely from the Wynns family. I stayed here with my family. There were four of us sharing a room. Hotel is nice and clean and hotel staff were always extremely polite and helpful. Whenever we needed any help or advice, we would just ask at reception and they would give us a solution and help out. Location is good in the sense that the team station is walking distance and there is a train that takes you straight up to Galata Tower from the IETT building across the rd which is very convenient. Lots of lovely views of the Bosphorus and lovely to walk outside in the evening. We had our laundry done a few times which was convenient. There is a large selection for the breakfast and you can ask for an omelette which is made fresh. The dining area is lovely and has a great view. My son used to sit up there in the evening's every day. All in all a good experience and I would book Ferman Port again if I came to Istanbul. However, I would book a different room as the family room didn't have a view.
