Boucan Canot

It is a beautiful hotel with the most fantastic view and our junior suite was also great. Food was below average - breakfast was not of a high standard and one morning they were out of juice!! BUT our biggest concern was the the limitation of speaking English. Reunion is telling everybody, that they want to be a tourist island and then it is not good enough, that a hotel of Boucan Canot level have so few people, that speak English - I had a feeling, that we were second rank tourist, because we don't speak French. It is ok to be proud of the French language, but it is a general problem on all French destinations - they think, that French is a world language, but it is NOT!! If they want to welcome English spoken tourist, all staff should be trained in English.

Excellent hotel, very relaxing, lovely staff, great location, spacious family room and delicious food and drinks. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four (1adult and three teenagers aged 15-17). The pool could be heated a little more but otherwise, everything was perfect!
