Mercure Queenstown Resort

Walked into dirty room, that even the guy who dropped our bags off was shocked and he had to be quickly vacuum it as said its was not ok at all. etc.. keys wouldnt work and wouldnt let us in so wated alot of our time and stress doing that with 6 kids and disabilities not ok. Was told by staff oh weve been busy so staff havnt been able to clean like we do...what the ?? Unacceptable! Slept ontop of beds as couldnt be sure that was even clean... yuck. As for keys locking us out. Making a disabled person have to walk 5 minutes or more and down elevators t to reception just to give us another faulty card. Absolute worst stay weve ever experienced and not worth even half what we paid for... tent would have been better.

Excellent place to stay with family and lot’s of thing to do around.

Staff was great. Room was clean. Could have been a bit bigger. Breakfast area, bar, gym and spa were great. Corridors are bit dark around the room. No playing area for kids is a big let down specially on a rainy day. Rest was fine.

Fernhill is a great location, stunning views. Our 5 year old loved the buffet breakfast options and the room service kids meals which made life easy for us. The room had stunning views which made up for the dated bathroom and uncomfortable beds. Staff lovely and friendly and helpful. Easy parking. Would stay again.

Staff were great on check in. That’s about it! Hotel is old and tired. The pool is so cold it’s unusable - and there’s not enough furniture for more than a few people to sit around. The rooms are large (family) although ours had barely been cleaned despite a late check in. Minimal staff at bar - long, long wait to be served. Location is great with great views. For the price I recommend staying closer to town (the hotel is on a hill which is very tough to walk without a car. Taxis are very expensive).

We had a lovely stay here over New Years. We watched the fireworks from the patio, enjoyed the pool (although even the kids said it was too cold), and wandered into town everyday along the water. Our room had an amazing view of the lake! However, we never seemed to be in or out at the right time for housekeeping and the one time they did come they didn’t wipe any surfaces or vacuum.

Had broken toilet in room, when told receptionist we were told that manger was home resting with family and we could use common toilet on ground floor.
