The Met Hotel

Our stay was a short family one with my daughter. The venue was convenient for city dwelling - parking was much appreciated. We made use of the facilities, albeit not all. Staff was very helpful and polite. Sure to return one of these days. Efharistoume poly!

We ask for a baby cot and it came a very old and dirty one. The shower door doesn’t seal completely and all the water came out on the bathroom floor. Hotel corridors and carpet looked old. The breakfast variety was really good and we enjoyed it.

I realise this hotel is in a redevelopement area, but there is little developement going on. The neighbourhood was very unattractive;there are many derelict buildings covered in graffiti along the road/old docks.You could not have a pleasant stroll outside, it did not feel safe, the pavements were uneven and overgrown with shrubs and old rail tracks(watch out when you drive over them) to what was the industrial area opposite the hotel (so no decent view). I doubt there will be much improvement, apart from the numerous garages, due to the current economic situation, which is a shame. You NEED a car/taxi to take you to the better areas for tavernas/bars/shopping. The car park is €15 per day. The hotel itself is acceptable, although the indoor pool was small; really would be cramped if more than 5 people tried to swim in it,a small jacquzzi next to this with 4 daybeds,The rooftop pool was of a similar size. I booked a dble room, but was given a twn (not too much of an issue). The rain shower was very pleasant, there was plenty of storage space, a decent tv, desk area, good air con, spotless. The twin rm with extra bed was a little cramped, but again clean. This room had a large bath & hand held shower. Both rooms had a spacious balcony. I did not have the overpriced b/fast @ €23-27 p/person, nor the expensive room service. Shame our stay was marred by the noisy occupants opposite that kept their doors open & let their kids run about, whilst shouting on their mobiles :-(
